Prayer for The Middle East

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In these days, many of us watch the news from the Middle East with heavy hearts. So many innocent lives have been affected — families displaced, communities wounded, and hearts filled with fear and uncertainty. As followers of Christ, we are called to respond not with despair but with prayer and hope. Jesus reminds us, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9), inviting us to be instruments of God’s peace in our world.
In moments like these, we may feel powerless before such great suffering. Yet faith teaches us that prayer is never powerless. Prayer unites us with God’s healing grace and opens hearts to reconciliation and understanding. St Paul urges us: “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5,17), trusting that the Lord listens to the cry of His people. Let us pray for the people of the Middle East, regardless of nationality, culture, or religion. May we seek peace, pursue peace, and speak peace.
Peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, compassion, and respect for the dignity of every human person created in God’s image. May the Lord comfort the afflicted and guide humanity toward lasting peace.
I invite everyone in our parish to remember this intention in your daily prayers and at the Eucharist. May Christ, the Prince of Peace, bless our world with healing, hope, and lasting peace.
With prayer and blessings,
Fr Biju Jose OSH, PP
